Madan Mohan Punchhi
8th Chief Justice of India
Born on October 10, 1933 at Pakpattan, Punjab (now in Pakistan). Early education in Sacred Heart School, Amritsar. He began his legal career in 1955, and was appointed as a Judge of Punjab and Haryana High Court in December 1982. In October 1989, he was appointed as Judge of the Supreme Court of India, and became Chief Justice of India in January 1998.
Kiran Bedi (IPS)
India’s First Woman IPS Officer. Recipient of Ramon Magsaysay Award. Worked in UN as Police Advisor. Founder of NGOs Navjyoti and India Vision Foundation. Author of several books including 'I Dare'.
Rupa Bajwa
Author of ‘The Sari Shop’ and 'Tell Me a Story'. Winner of XXIV Grinzane Cavour Prize (2005), Commonwealth Award (2005), and Sahitya Akademi Award (2006).
